Constructed in 1939, This Art deco building served as office space and a county jail for a number of years, but then sat fallow. In 2007, after 10 years non-use, the county restored this building utilizing funds received from a huge tobacco settlement. It is again a very viable part of the governmental institution on Hawley Street.
